Why Kaitu TV

Entertainment is for everyone.

Free, for everyone

No subscription, no sign-up, no card. Open a page and watch — wherever you are in the world.

Curated with care

Whole films and complete series, chosen and described — every programme credited with its makers, its licence and its source.

Every screen, every format

Phone, tablet, laptop or television — and whatever a programme was recorded in, it plays, in Kaitu’s own player.

Every country, every language

Bollywood and Pyongyang, Soviet classics and Latin cinema, silent masterpieces and the news — the world’s screens in one place.

Kaitu TV exists to give the whole world free, curated access to entertainment and media.

Films and television belong to everyone who wants to watch them. Kaitu brings together what the world has made and shared — from the first moving pictures to today’s broadcasts — describes it properly, credits it fairly, and opens it to anyone, anywhere, for free.

Questions

Good to know.

Is Kaitu TV really free?

Yes. Kaitu TV costs nothing and asks for nothing: no subscription, no account, no card. Kaitu’s own short films play in the breaks between programmes.

Do I need to sign up or install anything?

No. Kaitu TV runs in your web browser on any phone, tablet, computer or smart TV. Open a page and press play.

Where do the programmes come from?

From the Internet Archive and Wikimedia Commons, streamed from where they live — Kaitu stores none of them. Titles, synopses, posters and episode guides come from open databases (TMDB’s published database, Wikidata, Wikipedia and TVmaze), and every title’s page credits its sources.

What is on?

Live channels around the clock — classic and world cinema, silent films, westerns, noir, comedy, series, the news, Korean Central Television and Kaitu’s own channels — and an On Demand library of films and series from every country, in every language, growing every day.

How do I report a problem or a programme that is yours?

Write to hello@kaitu.org. We look at every message and take down anything that shouldn’t be here.
