Rolling internship application

Our internship programme is for students and early-career people who want to learn how admissions, residency and citizenship, and careers and business advice is really done — alongside the consultants who do it.

Applications are open all year. We read every one, and when an internship place is available we invite the people who fit it to a conversation. The details of each internship — its length, hours, pay and arrangements — are set out for each placement and discussed with you, because they differ from one internship to another.

What an internship involves

• Real projects. Supervised work that matters to real families: researching schools, universities and programmes, preparing and checking documents, and drafting notes for consultants. A consultant always remains responsible for what a family receives.
• A mentor. A member of the team who meets with you regularly, reviews your work and helps you set goals.
• Rotations. Time with more than one practice — admissions, residency and citizenship, and careers and business — so you see how the pieces of a family’s plan fit together.
• A pathway. Interns who do excellent work may be considered for full-time roles through our usual process. No one can honestly promise a future role, and we won’t.

Remote-friendly

Much of our work is done remotely across time zones. Tell us where you’re based, when you could start and how many hours a week suit your studies.

What we’re looking for

• A student or early-career person with curiosity about education, migration or careers across borders
• Careful, clear writing, and the patience to check details twice
• Discretion: families’ plans and documents stay private, from your first day
• Availability for a season of your choosing and a realistic number of hours each week
• Any languages you speak are welcome; tell us about them

How we hire

1. Apply. Choose a role — or the general or internship application — and share your CV and a few words about why Kaitu. You’ll get a private link to follow your application.
2. A conversation. A relaxed, two-way video conversation with members of the team: your experience, how you like to work, and your questions for us.
3. A practical exercise. A short, realistic piece of the work, so you can show how you think, write and check the details — and see what the job is really like.
4. An offer. If it’s a match, we make you an offer and talk it through with you. Then we welcome you to the team.
